Morning Babies!!!  GOOD Morning!

I know the question for alot of you was "How did the show go in NY on Saturday?" Well  alot of unexpectant things happened in NY on Saturday. It was so good to see my Urb Alt Fam and Uninterrupted was ready to perform balls to the wall. However when we got to the park, there was no power anywhere in the park.Needless to say everyone was floored including the Urb Alt organizers who worked tirelessly and surprisingly calm to attempt to remedy the situation. It was one of those things where no one but the city could be blamed for it.  What I love about Urb Alt and all my fam there is that everyone understood and everyone banded together to do what they could to help the situation .  So we were on the hunt for a venue, last minute in NY .... on a Saturday Night.  While we were waiting to hear word, We ventured down to the popular spot called "The Shrine" to get drinks and eat . We couldn't utilize The Shrine because there was already and event going on there.  So we ate,drank and waited soon were joined by Stoni Taylor and some of his band mates and the lovely Leila Adu .  A good friend of mine that resides in NY was like Moon ya'll should get on stage. I was like naw I dont even knowwhat this event is. So  the more I drank the more the urge for me to be on stage grew.  So I got up and went to the door man and asked him what was this event about and broke down our situation. I said "I have 2 bands and a singer songwriter sitting right here at this table. We drove 4 hrs and the other drove 14 hrs to get here to perform but due to circumstances it didnt happen. Can we get on your stage to do a jam session." So he went to the organzier the organizer went to her business partner  who informed me of a jam sesion they were holding there next month. I said  l"ook we are here now for one night and got our equipment in the car. " They said check it we have a 30 min window before another band comes in if you can  set up in 2 min then you can do a little something.  So the young lady who was performing had 3 more tunes which shortned the time frame we were going to use so theycame to us and said "One song!" I said ok let's make it count!

We came and completely tore down the house with one song! It was a magical moment and I was so blessed and pleased that my ability to hustle paid off. 
I had to do something my band came up here to play and I had to be drastic to get results.

So the "They " I kept referring too turned out to be the lovely ladies of Synchronized Rhythm Chante Ramsey and Caprice Todman .
They were so kind to me and allowed us to come in and do what we do . I am forever grateful .

Uninterrupted was so grateful and it goes to show that all you have to do is ask, the only answer you can get is Yes or No . But at least you asked !
Dont fret though babies Mama Moon is returning to NY this Thursday to continue with my Urb Alt Family. I will bringing u live updates and beautiful

Greetings Babies!

As promised since the last time we spoke. We are featuring the fellas of Uninterrupted. Our first feature is a very special talent and beautiful person . He is what I call the pulse and the glue that keeps Uninterrupted together He is our drummer and voice of reason. He also has the hardest job of them all, which is being married to yours truly.   He is the man of many names, but today we will call him

We asked Ahk (another name we call him) a few questions.. and his answers are quite interesting to say the least enjoy







When did u first pick up your instrument?

3rd grade. I was actually a violinist in the beginning days. Then I changed schools and wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to play. I thought about the baritone and then my mother said to me, “Why not play the snare drum?” So I though it would be cool to try it out. Never really paid attention to drums or drummers for that matter. So I began playing snare and really started digging it! The only thing I hated at the time was missing the school bus, because that meant I had to carry that big ass case (well, back in the day, I wasn’t the largest person in the worl either), then as I got older, the equipment seem to pile on even more. Sometimes I wish she would have suggested the flute or something small.



What are your Influences?

Well, in the beginning, it was Go-Go music. I thought I would never give that style up and as all youngsters tend to think, that style will last forever in my mind.


But once I left DC, I got turned out on house music and politically motivated hip-hop like Public Enemy. No imagine attending an predominately white school with a white blued eyed, blonde hair girlfriend and trying to be a Black Muslim at the same time (“What the hell was I thinking?”)


After graduating from college, I went to California and discovered drum and bass on the grounds of Berkley along with acid jazz and the underground screen. That was the first time I heard Me’Shell Ndegeocello (They played “talk To Me” and I thought I had lost my mind!!) Who the hell was Me’Shell and WHY didn’t I know she came from my home town?


So I made the commitment to only listen to underground radio stations and artist and believe me, they are out there!! Just gotta look in the right spots. I don’t have a favorite influence, but I can say that Me’Shell’s current drummer for the last 2 albums is ridiculous!!! BUT, my favorite styles are Drum and Bass, House (good HOUSE not TECHNO) and what I like to consider Abstract Functional Progressive FOCK (Now that is a Professor Muhammad term…ya dig?:)!


Favorite Uninterrupted Song?

Mother Nature and the live versions we have played which have been captured on video ( Strausburg , VA when the wife was pregnant and on stage doing her thing: GANGSTA!!!)


Most memorable Uninterrupted gig?

Horse of a Different Flavor Ranch and Hippie Commune (That gig was interesting to say the least!)

How do balance a marriage with the lead singer of the band 

You always have to remember that you are married to the face of the group. You also have to remember it is business and treat her with the same scrutiny as the other members because they expect me to take her side on everything. My wife is my best partner and we don't agree on everything, but I don't allow her to punk me with some bullshit answer either. It is interesting being a military academy grad (guess which one bitches) and taking some of those core values into the civilian lifestyle especially into the music industry. It is hard not to carry over business into personal, and I am not good at it at all and I still working on it. It is easy to see everything and facilitate being successful rather than being mad. If you really want to know how it works for real, then listen the songs!! She packs an argument into each one and you always understand what she is feeling about her husband in that sublimnal message shit. Paying the song backwards does not reveal a secret message. My baby tells your ass straight up. Straight the FUCK UP SON!!

Good Monday Morning babies!

This weekend was a busy one for the Uninterrupted Clan . We spent all day Saturday recording new tunes that will be featured on our upcoming project as of right now entitled "Unrestricted"  I'm still kinda conflicted on that being the title of  our album but you know how the creative process goes.  Try a little of this and a little of that and see if we land right side up or up side down . It's all gravy either way. We are working hard to give u what you want from Uninterrupted so look out  !
